It adds a dynamic that<br />wouldn't be present otherwise. Rather than raising a voice or stopping to redirect a student a simple quiet please, no not now, focus, please read next, or I'll talk to you later, gets the students attention and back on track. They all love that they aren't embarrassed by being called out in front of the class and they love that they are learning another language. The students maintain themselves better and are redirected faster and with ease by using sign. It has been a wonderful way to keep the doors of communication open with my students.
